Job Summary

The Director will spearhead all initiatives related to the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) at the institution, providing transformative leadership in the development and execution of a comprehensive five-year strategy that aligns with the College's mission, vision, and strategic objectives. This pivotal role within the Office of Academic Affairs involves establishing an inclusive framework, implementing a detailed workplan, and executing all facets of the QEP aimed at enhancing student learning and success, as defined by institutional goals and accrediting standards.


Duties & Responsibilities
  • Establish and promote the QEP framework, effectively communicating its goals and objectives to faculty, staff, and students to ensure successful implementation and outcomes.
  • Engage with faculty, students, resource groups, and College leadership at all levels to disseminate, implement, and continuously assess the QEP's goals and supporting activities.
  • Collaborate with institutional strategy and effectiveness units to leverage data findings and analytics in aligning goals and outcomes as defined in the QEP.
  • Provide leadership in designing and implementing necessary procedures, pedagogies, curricula, facilities, and professional development to achieve QEP objectives.
  • Maintain and update the QEP website in collaboration with relevant College personnel.
  • Work with the Center for Institutional and Organizational Learning (CIOL) team to offer professional development opportunities related to QEP initiatives.
  • Monitor accreditation requirements to ensure compliance and reporting standards are met.
  • Develop and lead the activities of the QEP College-wide committee and its subcommittees.
  • Act as a liaison with external stakeholders to gather input for QEP development and implementation.
  • Coordinate the rollout of the QEP across all campuses, overseeing related training, workshops, and presentations.
  • Prepare detailed analyses of QEP developments, progress, and performance against established benchmarks, and complete regular reports.
  • Lead the QEP Assessment Plan, ensuring annual formative assessments of student learning outcomes and a summative assessment at the conclusion of the five-year plan.
  • Facilitate communication among all relevant constituencies to ensure effective development and implementation of the QEP.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and data on the project, coordinating the production of annual and final reports.
  • Manage the QEP budget and personnel effectively.
  • Attend annual meetings as budget permits.
  • Collaborate with College personnel to develop an awareness and marketing strategy that informs the College community about the QEP's purpose and value.
  • Provide updates to the Vice Provost of Academic Affairs and College leadership regarding progress and goal achievements of the QEP.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree and five (5) years of higher education project management experience or a related field; or Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years of experience in an academic area related to project management, digital literacy, educational technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Strong understanding of College organization, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Proven competence in College-wide project implementation at all levels.
  • Familiarity with QEP standards and requirements set by accrediting agencies aligned with institutional priorities.
  • Expertise in designing and executing operational plans, project management, and academic program management.
  • Knowledge of educational research and assessment methods, including quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Ability to develop and utilize statistical models to assess student learning outcomes relative to the QEP.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and engage stakeholders in achieving short and long-term goals.
  • Capability to plan and manage resource requirements, including staffing and budgets.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster community, industry, and global partnerships in support of the QEP.
  • Knowledge of budget and financial management within a large, complex organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of technological innovations and their impact on higher education.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multi-ethnic, and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, and staff.

Essential Position
  • This position has been designated as essential, meaning that during institutional emergencies, employees may be required to remain at their work location or report to work to ensure the continuity of operations.
