Job Title: Senior Maintenance Worker II

Job Summary:

The Senior Maintenance Worker II will be responsible for performing complex maintenance and repairs of the City's stormwater system, including buildings, parks, athletic facilities, parking structures, public works, and cemeteries. This role requires a strong understanding of maintenance and repair procedures, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of the City's stormwater system, including buildings, parks, athletic facilities, parking structures, public works, and cemeteries.
  • Perform complex maintenance and repairs, including concrete and asphalt repair, storm drainage system maintenance, and equipment operation.
  • Estimate costs of repairs, select and requisition necessary equipment and supplies, and oversee all work in progress to ensure quality, timeliness, and safety.
  • Provide maintenance and repair work and supervise a small work crew, assigning, reviewing, and inspecting work, guiding task performance, training and developing employees, and promoting and observing safe work practices.
  • Perform general maintenance duties, including cleaning debris from ditches, mowing ditches with line trimmers, loading debris onto trucks, picking up litter, and blowing leaves.
  • Clean and maintain stormwater facilities, including mowing grass, removing litter, repairing fences and other equipment.
  • Respond to emergencies after hours and on weekends, and serve as a member of the Critical Workforce during hurricanes and other natural disasters.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of related maintenance experience.
  • Valid commercial driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
  • Confined Space safety Certification, ICS100 and ICS700, Blood borne Pathogens, and Traffic control Flagging certification.
