POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Safety and Security Specialist safeguards the organization's physical and intellectual properties. The primary duty involves managing access control effectively. This role may require various shift assignments, including extended hours during weekends and holidays. Key responsibilities encompass conducting patrols, overseeing surveillance systems, and monitoring communication channels. All personnel must successfully complete a drug screening and uphold a professional demeanor in accordance with departmental standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees surveillance equipment operations.
Responds to and monitors communication channels.
Identifies and documents security, fire, and safety infractions.
Provides emergency assistance (CPR, first aid, workplace injury care).
Conducts patrols, necessitating prolonged walking.
Stays in confined spaces for extended durations.
Maintains familiarity with protocols for the designated security position.
Manages security system operations.
Secures and unlocks restricted areas as required.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must be eligible to operate company vehicles with a clean driving history.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong interpersonal skills with diverse populations.
Maintain confidentiality consistently.
Exhibit sound judgment in crisis situations.

Punctual and reliable; proficient report writing skills; capable of reading, interpreting, and applying security and emergency protocols independently.

Responsible for mastering the Security Officer Training Matrix covering various subjects.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
N/A

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, lifting up to 50lbs, etc.

INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT:
Performs tasks and responsibilities under general supervision, utilizing established protocols and creativity. Selects from limited options to address issues. Occasionally employs independent judgment to fulfill work assignments. Frequently recommends improvements to work procedures, policies, and practices.
