Position Overview
This role offers instructional support services to the Science Programs. Responsibilities include preparing laboratory sessions according to faculty specifications, coordinating lab and equipment usage among faculty and students, and assisting faculty in the preparation of laboratory activities.

- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the instructional programs in Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Physics.
- Set up and dismantle equipment and supplies for laboratory sessions.
- Coordinate the laboratory activity schedule in conjunction with faculty.
- Advise on equipment and supply purchases pertinent to the instructional program.
- Maintain organization of laboratories, supplies, materials, and equipment for optimal readiness.
- Provide additional assistance to the science instructional program as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
- Strong academic foundation in biology and/or health and life sciences, particularly in anatomy and physiology.
- Experience handling chemicals in a laboratory environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe laboratory practices.
- Experience in coordinating or organizing activities and scheduling.
- Successful completion of a criminal history background check prior to employment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, and lift/carry up to 20 lbs.
- Capability to climb and stand on step stools and small ladders for brief periods.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to build and maintain satisfaction among internal and external customers and effectively solve problems.
- An appreciation for diversity and a commitment to cultural awareness and sensitivity in the workplace.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
- Responsibility for reporting to work as scheduled and notifying management in advance of any absences.

This is a part-time hourly position, scheduled to work varied hours (depending on lab schedule needs), approximately 15 to 17 hours per week. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and membership in the Washington Federation of State Employees or payment of a service fee may be required. TCC part-time hourly and student employees, including work-study students, will accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked. Hourly non-student employees may be eligible for a comprehensive health care benefits package for themselves and their dependents, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance.
