Job Summary

As a Medical Technologist at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing complex laboratory tests and analyses. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing and managing diseases, as well as ensuring the accuracy of test results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pretesting and processing samples
  • Performing, analyzing, interpreting, and confirming tests
  • Documenting and delivering test results
  • Operating and maintaining standard lab instruments and equipment
Accountability:

You will be accountable for ensuring the accuracy of test results and related analyses, adhering to established standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This includes monitoring test conditions, specimen quality, and instrument function, as well as identifying atypical organisms and solving unexpected problems.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in a chemical/physical/biological or other life science, with relevant generalist clinical laboratory experience. National MT certification with ASCP or AMT is also required. For new graduates, national certification must be obtained within the first six months of employment.
