Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Medical Assistant or Nurse to join our team at Grand River Medical Group.

This is a full-time position, 36-40 hours per week, with a typical schedule of 4 days per week and no evening or weekend requirements. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is self-motivated and empathetic, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing patient-centered, high-quality healthcare, including administering immunizations, rooming patients, taking vitals, and reviewing medication histories. They will also be expected to work closely with our family medicine clinicians and the entire clinic staff to prioritize their workload and multitask while maintaining an exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for clinician office visits, including greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms, obtaining vitals, and updating medications and allergies in the electronic medical record.
  • Assist clinicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments, demonstrating the ability to perform and assist with clinical procedures.
  • Document accurately in all areas of the electronic medical record.
  • Communicate test results and return phone calls in a timely manner.
  • Promote wellness by providing patient educational materials, communicating clinicians' advice and instructions to patients and/or families, and assessing patients' and/or families' understanding of instructions and information.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school of nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses.
  • One year of Medical Assistant or professional nursing experience in a clinic setting preferred.
  • Active certification or license to practice in the state of Iowa.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
