Medical Assistant or Nurse for Multi-Specialty Clinic

Grand River Medical Group is seeking a reliable and organized Certified Medical Assistant or nurse (RN/LPN) to work within our Multi-Specialty Clinic.
This position involves working independently in a fast-paced environment while providing patient-centered, high-quality healthcare. Key responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, reviewing medication histories, and performing clinical nurse duties.
The ideal candidate will be a team player who is self-motivated and efficient. They will be responsible for prioritizing their workload and multitasking while maintaining an exceptional patient experience.
This is a full-time position, 36-40 hours per week, with no evening or weekend requirements. The candidate will have the opportunity to pick up shifts at other clinic locations as desired.
Key duties include:
- Preparing patients for clinician office visits, including greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms, obtaining vitals, and updating medications and allergies in the electronic medical record.
- Assisting clinicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatment.
- Providing direct patient care as directed.
- Documenting accurately in all areas of the electronic medical record.
- Communicating test results and returning phone calls in a timely manner.
- Completing prior authorizations as needed.
- Floating through the organization and department based on the need of the organization/department and skill set the CMA/nurse has been signed off on to perform.
Requirements include:
- Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program or school of nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses.
- One year of Medical Assistant or professional nursing experience preferred.
- Active certification/license to practice in the state of Iowa.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
