Job Summary

Stotz Equipment is seeking a skilled Combine Tech/Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for the effective diagnosis and repair of engine components, including small engines, agricultural equipment, and other equipment sold in the market area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair engine components, including small engines, agricultural equipment, and other equipment sold in the market area.
  • Perform daily duties, including customer contact, diagnosing, troubleshooting using diagnostic tools, making repairs, and acting as an ambassador of the company.
  • Work in the field and in the shop, with occasional work assignments completed in the field.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years of diesel mechanic experience in a shop or in the field.
  • Proven knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair of John Deere equipment.
  • Must own and maintain their own tools.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work a varying work schedule/shift and be flexible to respond to after-hour calls.
  • Ability to assemble and perform maintenance functions on equipment.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Have and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral communication and written skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 to 6 years of John Deere experience.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and a telephone.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements (having the visual acuity to read words and numbers on the computer screen and on paper).
  • Hearing ability is sufficient to communicate with others in person or over the phone.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required (up to 25 pounds).
  • Ability to reach, stoop, kneel, and bend as needed.

  • Required: High School or better.
