Role Summary:
The Radiology Specialist in Nuclear Medicine is responsible for delivering clinical services in accordance with established nuclear medicine standards. This role serves as a vital resource for radiography students and fellow technologists, ensuring the highest quality of patient care and operational efficiency within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exemplary patient care while identifying and addressing clinical and emergent issues that may affect imaging procedures.
- Demonstrate proficiency in transmitting images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of venipuncture techniques for the administration of intravenous radionuclides.
- Apply knowledge of nuclear medicine principles, anatomy, and imaging techniques to achieve optimal study results.
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols to protect both patients and staff, maintaining exposure levels within ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) limits.
- Assist physicians during various procedures, following standard protocols and ensuring infection control measures are in place.
- Maintain accurate patient identification and documentation to support high-quality imaging interpretations.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks to facilitate smooth departmental operations.
Successful candidates will undergo a comprehensive onboarding process, including a pre-employment physical. Capital Health Services mandates annual flu vaccinations for all applicants, with exceptions for those with medical or religious exemptions.
