In this field-based role, you will be pivotal in evaluating, assessing, and pricing risks while driving profitable growth for our agency partners within your designated territory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite: Analyze risks, set prices, negotiate, and make informed decisions on commercial business.
  • Market: Promote and solicit business across all available units within the territory to cultivate a strong, diverse agency relationship.
  • Develop the territory: Lead strategic planning, ownership, and execution of growth and profit initiatives within the territory, including new agency appointments.
  • Lead agencies: Build deep relationships with each assigned agency to create a diverse and profitable portfolio, delivering on our vision to be the best company serving independent agents through consistent presence within agency offices.
  • Provide leadership: Collaborate with and guide other field disciplines within designated agency relationships to ensure their success through effective communication and support.
  • Research the market: Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, emerging risks, and primary competitors, making informed decisions based on this data.
Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Willingness to travel and visit agencies regularly.
  • Skills in strategic business plan development.
  • Passion for leadership.
  • A valid driver's license.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven experience in underwriting, with a minimum of 2 years in commercial underwriting; more than 3 years preferred.
  • Relevant insurance industry certifications (e.g., Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), professional selling) are advantageous.
