De Anza Appliance is a locally owned and operated business that has been serving the community since 1972. Our apprenticeship program starts at the minimum wage in Santa Clara and offers hourly increases during benchmarks. Upon successful completion, most candidates graduate with an annual salary of around $50k, which can increase to $80k within two years and up to six-figure salaries within five years. You'll receive uniforms, paid holidays, and sick leave from the start, with medical insurance after three months and paid vacation, a company vehicle, fuel card, phones, and technology after six months. You'll have 21 paid days off annually. Your responsibilities will include learning the trade through digital coursework and one-on-one trainings, shadowing service managers and experienced technicians, providing professional communication, accurately diagnosing and repairing appliances, and ensuring the efficient use of materials. You'll need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of experience demonstrating customer service skills, mechanical aptitude, a valid driver's license, and proficiency in navigating tablet-based technology. You'll also need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis and up to 100 pounds occasionally, and have the physical ability to perform strenuous work under varied circumstances. As an appliance repair technician, you'll work with a variety of appliances, including dishwashers, microwaves, and dryers, and will need to have skills in mechanical and electrical work, as well as high mechanical aptitude and excellent communication skills.
