The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent requests for medical assistance and delivering high-quality patient care, treatment, and customer service in a timely and professional manner. The EMT will work in a fast-paced environment, providing medical care to patients in a variety of settings, including emergency medical services, hospitals, and clinics.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain thorough familiarity with treatment protocols, response requirements, and quality assurance procedures.
- Develop and maintain the ability to quickly and safely locate addresses through knowledge of number systems and street layouts.
- Ensure that the unit remains in a state of readiness in terms of mechanical reliability, medical supply, and equipment, cleanliness, and appearance standards.
- Complete all appropriate EMT documentation as outlined in company policy.
- Report all problems and unusual occurrences immediately to the Lead Paramedic or Supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- CA Drivers' License
- Ambulance Driver's License (from DMV)
- Medical Examiner's Card or DL51 (from DMV)
- State of California EMT License
- CPR Card (American Heart Association ONLY, Health Care Provider)
- Driving record in compliance with McCormick's Safety and Driving policy (proof required if conditional employment is made)
