I. POSITION OVERVIEW

Reports to: Quality Manager/QSE Administrator

II. OBJECTIVE

The role involves conducting quality assessments of raw materials upon receipt, during production, and upon completion of items at specified inspection stages.

III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.

IV. COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Effective communication with management and colleagues is essential, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.

V. SUPERVISION

This position requires direct oversight.

VI. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, along with the ability to maintain accurate and organized records.

VII. REQUIRED TRAINING AND SKILLS

Proficiency with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, scales, protractors, and tape measures is necessary. Ability to interpret contracts and analyze data to identify trends for management reporting is also required.

VIII. EXPERIENCE

Strong communication, reading, mathematical, and computer skills are essential. Previous experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing setting is preferred.

IX. TRAVEL

No travel is required.

X. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collects random samples from incoming materials and assesses them for compliance with specifications.
  • Conducts routine checks, tests, and inspections of materials and finished products.
  • Assists in the development of procedures, work instructions, and inspection documentation relevant to the area of expertise.
  • Samples outgoing pallets of finished products and verifies compliance with company quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Gathers relevant data to ensure processes remain within acceptable tolerance levels.
  • Performs necessary testing procedures as dictated by customer specifications.
  • Inputs data into relevant software for management analysis.
XI. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position regularly requires standing, walking, using hands for handling, reaching, and occasionally sitting. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

XII. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employees in this role are regularly exposed to moving mechanical components and may occasionally encounter fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate, though hearing protection may be necessary depending on the assigned department.
