Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at MyMichigan Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage patient calls and schedule urgent/emergent add-ons
  • Support and direct patients for consults and/or testing, and insurance pre-certification and documentation
  • Perform routine pre-examination procedures, including vital signs and assessing and recording objective and subjective data
  • Update and maintain accurate patient records, including orders reconciliation and secure messaging
  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures, and prepare and clean the patient area
Requirements
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer
  • MA CERT - Medical Assistant certification required
  • Active certification/licensure in one of the following: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or equivalent Medical Assistant Credential
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a physician clinic setting
  • Knowledge of medical office policies, practices, and procedures
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, trauma, grief, and death. The ability to wear personal protective equipment, including latex materials or appropriate substitutes, is also required.
