Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team in Manassas, Virginia. As a key member of our electrical systems team, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems for our 9-passenger eSTOL aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the design, analysis, integration, and testing of electrical systems for our hybrid-electric aircraft.
  • Develop and manage requirements for electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compatibility with program-level safety, performance, certification, and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with program management, other IPTs, and functional groups to accomplish team goals.
  • Provide subject matter expert review and oversight throughout the development process.
  • Prepare and present gated design reviews to demonstrate the adequacy of the design.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace, or a related field, and 12+ years of experience in relevant discipline areas or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
  • Expertise in high-power hybrid-electric and/or fully electric propulsion systems and power electronics.
  • Experience in the development of aerospace electrical systems, hybrid-electric propulsion, and/or avionics systems.
  • Proficient with general-purpose test and build equipment/tools (oscilloscope, multimeter, soldering iron).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's or PhD degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), certification procedures, and relevant industry standards.
  • Experience with implementing and troubleshooting digital communications architectures (i.e., RS422, CAN, Ethernet, and ARINC429).
  • Experience with grounding schemes for large and complex electrical systems.
Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, and life insurance, generous PTO and sick leave, company holidays, paid winter break, and a 401(k) plan with immediate vesting.

Our salary range for this position is $100,000 - $224,750.00, based on the Company level overall across all locations and projects.
