Courier II Job Summary

The Courier II will be responsible for efficiently and effectively training on all routes and covering those routes when a Courier I is on PTO, sick, or unavailable. This role requires a flexible work schedule to cover morning and evening routes. The Courier II will also be responsible for training new couriers and periodically riding with all couriers to ensure workflow goals are met. Additionally, the Courier II will run routes in a manner that meets established goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train on all routes and cover routes when a Courier I is unavailable
  • Develop and maintain a flexible work schedule to cover morning and evening routes
  • Train new couriers and ride with all couriers to ensure workflow goals are met
  • Run routes in a manner that meets established goals

Requirements
  • Valid class C California Driver License
  • Verification of acceptable driving record from the California Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Full knowledge and ability to apply universal precautions and proper transport conditions for healthcare specimens
  • Familiarity with handling of hazardous materials (i.e. dry ice, formalin)
  • Ability to safely operate assigned company vehicles and meet established delivery schedules
  • 2 years of laboratory logistics experience, such as running routes, handling specimens, delivery of reports and supplies
