Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and Replenishment: Purchase and replenish produce products through proper buying procedures, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to meet customer demands.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in an accurate and timely manner, controlling spoilage and shrink, and achieving turn goals.
  • Merchandising: Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for stocking and merchandising products, ensuring orders for product are timely and accurate to monitor inventory turns.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing needs of customers in a timely and effective manner, and modeling suggestive selling techniques.
  • Store Operations: Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, adhering to WFM cleanliness and safety standards, and performing opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 12+ months retail experience.
  • Skills: Extensive produce product knowledge, including production, distribution, seasonal availability, advances, and trends; strong basic math skills; knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds; standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day; hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling; work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
