Cancer Data Specialist Job Description

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a skilled Cancer Data Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our cancer program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and quality of cancer clinical research data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and maintain accurate and timely cancer data in accordance with national and state agencies, cancer program accreditation agency, and VUMC Cancer Committee.
  • Develop and implement data quality assurance processes to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and address data discrepancies and inconsistencies.
  • Participate in department-wide quality assurance initiatives and contribute to the development of quality improvement plans.
  • Represent the cancer program at tumor boards and provide education on cancer staging guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification from the National Cancer Registrar's Association.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in cancer data management or a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
