The selected Sous Chef will oversee our upscale dining establishment, requiring a minimum of three years of experience in a fine dining context, with a strong understanding of service flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee food production for the dining area, including menu development and staff management.
  • Assist in the creation of daily specials.
  • Support the hiring, training, and ongoing management of all personnel involved in food production.
  • Maintain professional standards of conduct and appearance consistently.
  • Provide assistance to the Assistant Executive Chef as needed.
  • Set and adhere to food cost objectives for the dining room, taking corrective actions as necessary to meet financial targets.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Assistant Executive Chef.
  • Address and report any guest complaints to the Assistant Executive Chef, aiding in their resolution.
  • Assist with food procurement, delivery, storage, and rotation of supplies.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff and management regarding specials and operational concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with health department regulations for safe food handling.
  • Propose ideas for future objectives, operational enhancements, and staff management to the Assistant Executive Chef.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in an upscale dining environment.
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, primarily during PM hours, averaging 45 hours per week (overtime applicable after 40 hours).
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Capability to walk, stand, and bend continuously to fulfill essential job functions.
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and manage stressful situations during peak times.

Reports to: Assistant Executive Chef

All candidates offered employment will be required to undergo drug testing as a condition of employment.
