CAD / Bill of Material Specialist Job Summary

The CAD / Bill of Material Specialist will collaborate closely with Vertiv's Deployment Engineering team and the custom Integrated Modular Solutions (IMS) Engineering team to develop workshop drawings and Bills of Materials. These Engineering teams are responsible for designing modular Power and IT Data Centers Modules and creating design and manufacturing drawings as well as the associated BOMs. This position is responsible for releasing the design documentation and designed BOM entry into regional Product Line Management (PLM) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, including cross-functional team support throughout the development and release process.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and releases design documentation that satisfies requirements for completion date, performance, and reliability.
  • Develops documentation methods that ensure high levels of productivity.
  • Creates and maintains Part Numbers, BOMs, Configurations, and Process Flow Documentation.
  • Designs and documents designs in PLM and ERP systems.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree (preferred) in a relevant or technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum equivalent 3 years' experience.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling and 2D drafting, preferably with tools like AutoDesk Revit, Solid Edge, and/or AutoDesk Inventor.
  • Proficient in Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T) techniques.
  • Experience creating and sustaining a structured bill of materials in PLM and ERP systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain excellent listening and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Works independently and is highly motivated to initiate and accept new challenges.
  • Exhibits appropriate attributes in all aspects of performance and demeanor, including accuracy, results orientation, planning, and effective information management.
  • Positive attitude for working in a team environment.
