Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Westchester Medical Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for the operation and supervision of Respiratory Therapy in assigned areas of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and instruct respiratory therapists, technicians, and students in the use of respiratory equipment.
- Review therapy and treatment plans to ensure compliance with physician instructions.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment utilization and upkeep.
- Consult with physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff on respiratory cases requiring therapy.
- Participate in the instruction of students, nurses, and other hospital staff in therapeutic techniques.
- Enforce safety rules and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with current developments in the field through publications, conferences, and training seminars.
Requirements:
- Valid license and current registration as a Respiratory Therapist issued by the New York State Education Department.
- Registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Good knowledge of respiratory therapy practices, principles, and techniques.
- Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinates.
- Ability to instruct the techniques used in operating respiratory equipment.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential tasks of the position.
