Job Summary

This is a full-time Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Technical Specialist position located in Sheridan, WY.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for clients regarding project updates, issues, deliverables, and scope changes.
  • Leads client meetings in person or via teleconference, as needed.
  • Collaborates and communicates with laboratory staff on project status.
  • Problem-solves alternatives to project issues, delays, etc., that could impact either the quality or turn-around-time of the results and communicating alternatives, when feasible, in a positive and professional manner with the customer.
  • Collaborates with Department Leads to determine testing capabilities for incoming projects as well as quote changes based on project scope.
  • Supports Sample Management for large scope projects/complex projects with reviewing project needs, incoming sample issues, and compliance with regulations.
  • Generates client and department reports in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Reviews dashboards/open projects to keep projects moving and meet client's deadlines.
  • Provides intermediate to complex analysis and interpretation of data results to clients.
  • Assists with developing or participating in project management or cross-functional project or program objectives, which includes proposed budgets, timelines, materials, personnel, and other project requirements, receives direction, and presents information to management.
  • Interprets and applies department policies and procedures and assists with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; receives guidance within these areas as needed.
  • Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
  • Promotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in project management, chemistry, meteorology, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field: 1 year experience, including experience with specialized or technical programs or operations preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • General understanding of the administration and oversight of project management programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Intermediate to complex methods to resolve project management problems, questions, and concerns.
  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • General knowledge of testing capabilities.
  • Computer applications and systems related to the work.
  • Principles and practices to serving as an effective project team member.
  • Methods to communicate with staff, coworkers, and customers to ensure safe, effective, and appropriate operations.
  • Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in an office setting but requires occasional travel to field monitoring sites and client facilities.
