Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Human Resources Specialist to enhance the daily operations of our Human Resources (HR) department. In this position, you will be involved in various HR functions such as employee relations, training and development, recruitment, payroll management, benefits administration, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Your role will be crucial in fostering positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders by delivering exceptional service that aligns with our organizational standards.

This position is based at our corporate headquarters. You will report directly to the Director of Human Resources.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Facilitating new employee orientation, ethics training, and conducting exit interviews.
  • Administering HR programs, including payroll, benefits, performance management, and employee recognition initiatives.
  • Addressing employment-related inquiries from candidates, employees, and management, and escalating complex issues as necessary.
  • Staying informed about industry trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in HR technology to ensure compliance with applicable employment laws.
  • Assisting in the recruitment process, including interviewing and selecting qualified candidates for open positions.
  • Engaging with educational institutions to recruit students for internships and part-time roles, fostering a diverse talent pipeline.
  • Conducting background checks, reference verifications, and eligibility assessments for potential hires.
  • Supporting the company’s drug and alcohol testing program and other compliance requirements.
  • Providing general office management support, including front desk coverage.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a professional HR role within a technical or manufacturing setting.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively or independently while maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred:

  • Certifications such as SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
