Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial advice and assistance to patients regarding medical bills.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and their insurance companies, coordinating payments and answering questions from both parties.
  • Educate patients about payment options and financial assistance.
  • Verify insurance benefits and register patients using HMS software.
  • Knowledge of Behavioral Health carve out insurance and prior authorization/coordination of benefits.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Six (6) months previous hospital registration, billing and collections, financial counseling, and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance (Medicare, HMOs, PPOs, commercial), EMTALA regulations, hospital billing and collection process.
