Executive Sushi Artisan

We are a vibrant, locally-owned Hawaiian restaurant in Venice, California. Our commitment to using the freshest local ingredients and traditional culinary techniques creates a unique dining experience for our guests.

We are seeking an experienced Sushi Cook to prepare and serve high-quality sushi and sashimi. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sushi preparation, a passion for Hawaiian flavors, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Prepare and assemble sushi, sashimi, and rolls using fresh, high-quality ingredients.
• Work with the kitchen team to create innovative sushi dishes that reflect Hawaiian flavors and local ingredients.
• Ensure all sushi preparation and presentation is consistent with restaurant standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized sushi station, following health and safety regulations.
• Assist with inventory management, including monitoring fish quality and stock levels.
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques.

• Proven experience as a Sushi Cook or in a similar culinary role.
• Strong knowledge of traditional sushi preparation, including sushi rice, nigiri, rolls, and sashimi.
• Familiarity with Hawaiian and Japanese ingredients and flavors is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong knife skills and an eye for presentation.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
