Compensation Range
$113,790 - $141,276 Annually at the 320.1 level
$137,640 - $170,904 Annually at the 320.2 level

Position Overview
We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to deliver advanced cyber support across various unclassified and classified networks, security systems, and user access management. In this role, you will act as an Organizational Information Systems Security Officer (OISSO), overseeing intricate security strategies and configurations.
Your responsibilities will include conducting audit self-assessments, managing security projects, and collaborating with team members and stakeholders to address complex cyber challenges effectively. This position is part of the Computing Directorate's Information Technology Solutions Division.
This role offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for a blend of in-person and remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive Federal Information System Management Act (FISMA) documentation while liaising with government agencies.
- Execute advanced security tasks, including vulnerability remediation and compliance audits.
- Assess information systems for compliance and collaborate with system administrators to uphold security standards.
- Oversee account authorization processes and approve cyber-related procurements.
- Work with clients to design secure on-premises or cloud environments.
- Conduct cybersecurity evaluations to ensure adherence to LLNL/DOE policies and industry standards.
- Effectively communicate with senior management regarding cyber incidents and project updates.
- Support initiatives aimed at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the program.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience in information security or as an Information Systems Security Officer.
- Thorough knowledge of cyber tools for auditing, compliance, and continuous monitoring.
- Experience in enhancing efficiencies through process improvements.
- Proven ability to prioritize and resolve complex issues in a dynamic, customer-oriented environment.
- Strong technical background in system administration, networking, or cybersecurity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
- Capability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISA, CISM, or CCSP.
- Understanding of business operations including finance, budget, and human resource management.
- Familiarity with workflow automation tools like ServiceNow.
Additional Information
This is a Career Indefinite position, open to both internal and external candidates.
Security Clearance Requirement
This position necessitates a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance. Selected candidates will undergo a Federal background investigation to assess eligibility for access to classified information.
