Position Overview

The International Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator plays a pivotal role in strategizing, organizing, and executing the admissions and recruitment processes for international academic programs. This position aligns with the institution's strategic objectives to enhance the enrollment of international students while streamlining the admissions experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment and Outreach
  • Identify and create opportunities for admission and outreach events that align with the university's international enrollment goals.
  • Provide guidance to prospective and admitted students regarding educational pathways and career prospects.
  • Coordinate logistics and resources for promotional events, representing the university at various recruitment functions.
  • Develop targeted communication strategies and materials that resonate with diverse international audiences, showcasing the university's mission and academic offerings.
  • Engage in proactive follow-up with prospective international students to facilitate their application and enrollment processes.
  • Deliver tailored admissions messaging to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in extensive outreach initiatives, maintaining ongoing communication with prospective students through various channels.
  • Utilize a data-driven approach to enhance recruitment efforts.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with educational institutions, governmental bodies, and corporations to bolster international student recruitment.
Admissions Management
  • Implement and uphold policies for processing international applications in accordance with strategic recruitment plans.
  • Evaluate and process student applications, ensuring adherence to established guidelines.
  • Assess the authenticity and equivalency of international academic credentials while ensuring compliance with institutional standards.
Additional Duties
  • Assess program effectiveness and propose enhancements.
  • Contribute to the Office of International Education Team, aiding in the development of strategies to meet enrollment and retention objectives.
  • Engage in professional development to remain informed about best practices in international student recruitment and retention.
  • May oversee staff and/or lead specific program areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to deliver impactful presentations.
  • In-depth knowledge of international student recruitment and partnership development.
  • Strong organizational, planning, budgeting, and record-keeping abilities, with a proven capacity to maintain confidentiality and work effectively under pressure.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with website design and educational database software is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve international education goals.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, and to travel as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CRM systems, preferably Slate.
  • Background in international living or travel.
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Understanding of UW System, Board of Regent, State, and institutional policies and guidelines.
