Civil Engineering Manager

Ducks Unlimited, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced civil engineering manager to support our wetland restoration efforts in the Great Lakes region. As a key member of our conservation team, you will oversee the planning, design, and construction of wetland, riparian, and coastal restoration and enhancement projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a dynamic engineering program and supervise a team of engineers, engineering technicians, designers, and construction managers.
  • Coach engineering team members to interpret, select, adapt, and apply engineering, surveying, and construction management principles and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with project delivery agreements, permits, industry standards, and procurement conditions.
  • Develop and administer QA/QC procedures associated with the engineering program.
  • Prepare and/or review proposal scope of work, budgets, and schedules in close coordination with regional engineers and biological staff.
  • Participate in annual budget development for a three-state region.
  • Identify opportunities for potential growth in cooperation with the Manager of Conservation Programs.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent degree from an EAC/ABET accredited engineering program.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering design.
  • 2 years of concurrent experience in a management or supervisory role.
  • Strong background in ecological restoration and water resources.
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil3D, land surveying, and construction management and inspection.
