Senior Computer Science Educator

About the Position:
New River Community College (NRCC) is a public institution located in Virginia. We are seeking an experienced educator to teach computer science courses online or in-person.

Teaching Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for preparing and delivering instruction, assessing student learning, and maintaining a supportive learning environment. The college offers various programs, including occupational studies and college transfer courses. Our faculty members are known for their academic background and ability to work closely with students. They have excellent credentials and a genuine interest in student success.

Course Information:
The successful candidate will teach introductory and intermediate-level computer science courses. Available courses include:
• CSC 221 - Introduction to Problem Solving and Programming (Python)
• CSC 222 - Object Oriented Programming (Java)
• CSC 223 - Data Structures and Analysis of Algorithms (Java)
• CSC 208 - Introduction to Discrete Structures

Qualifications:
To be considered, applicants must have a master's degree in computer science or a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in computer science. Effective communication skills are essential for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous teaching experience in higher education, especially online courses, is highly valued.

Estimated Salary Range:
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, dependent on qualifications and experience.
