Who Are You?

You are a seasoned Senior Consultant or Associate Director specializing in MEP Estimating and Cost Management, possessing at least 10 years of post-graduate experience. You are seeking a new challenge or currently occupy a similar role in a comparable setting.

Key Responsibilities

The main objective of this position is to oversee commission management for various client projects. You will be a trusted member of the organization, coming from a cost management background.

Your experience in sectors such as manufacturing, high technology, life sciences, or data centers will lend credibility with clients and facilitate your adaptation to diverse environments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the creation, assessment, and validation of estimates for projects of varying scales.
  • Producing estimates and negotiating contracts across a wide range of projects, with expertise in either CSA or MEP.
  • Collaborating effectively with our team and all stakeholders, ensuring client objectives are achieved through efficient service delivery.
  • Overseeing commissions to secure optimal outcomes for our clients.
Essential Duties
  • Delivering estimate and cost planning, including the preparation and presentation of final cost reports.
  • Actively participating in post-contract cost variances and change control processes, referring significant changes to your line manager as necessary.
  • Conducting cost checks and evaluations on larger projects, ensuring timely and precise cost checking and valuation processes.
  • Generating monthly cost reports for client presentation.
  • Executing cost risk analysis and contributing to value engineering; negotiating and approving final accounts.
  • Maintaining centralized feedback and learning on cost estimating from projects and contributing to the enhancement of best practices in estimating.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Construction Management, Economics, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in cost management, including cost estimating, cost planning, construction projects, and MEP management services.
  • In-depth knowledge of all technical aspects of construction across various sector environments, including corporate interiors, commercial developments, data centers, and high-tech manufacturing.
  • Ability to support estimates with benchmarked data to validate proposed costs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of installation and labor variables through the application of various estimating tools and labor rates.
  • Capability to provide strategic guidance and direction to the team in service delivery.
  • Experience in preparing resource estimates and client proposals while balancing daily client needs with available resources, providing forecasts of resource requirements.
Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of cost management and technical expertise in specific areas.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and procurement processes.
  • Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Ability to produce bid documentation for client projects.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience within the specified industry sectors.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project software, along with other relevant applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A collaborative team player, self-motivated, and willing to support other teams and projects as needed.
  • Demonstrated strong listening and communication abilities.
Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time role is $165K-$185K per year. This range reflects base salary only and does not encompass the total compensation package. Turner & Townsend reserves the right to adjust the salary based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
