We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman Welder to join our team at LEAD Staffing. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding tasks on a variety of marine vessels, including US Naval Vessels, Military Sealift Command, and commercial ships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform production welding tasks with minimal supervision, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
  • Inspect and prepare surfaces for welding, ensuring accurate and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Confer with supervisors to resolve unexpected events and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Document existing conditions and maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Comply with OSHA standards and BAE best safety practices, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Provide quality work and objective quality evidence (OQE) as required by work specifications or assigned by supervisors.
  • Collaborate with welding helpers and fire watches to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in a related field, with a strong background in SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW welding.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions, drawings, and general correspondence.
  • Working knowledge of ship repair terminology and ship compartment naming convention.
  • Physical and medical capability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
