About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our Environmental Health & Safety team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Leadership: Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure adherence to relevant safety regulations and company standards. Investigate incidents and implement corrective measures to enhance overall health and safety performance.
  • Safety Assessments: Conduct regular evaluations of safety practices at various locations, sharing findings and managing related documentation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Handle required external safety reporting, including maintaining logs and managing safety databases.
  • Policy and Procedure Management: Collaborate with leadership to update safety-related policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with current regulations. Monitor employee compliance with established policies.
  • Security Compliance: Assist in maintaining adherence to security requirements for facilities, including emergency response protocols.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Help manage emergency response programs, including coordinating drills and training for response teams.
  • General Duties: Perform additional tasks as needed to support overall safety and compliance efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of experience in a safety or compliance role.
  • Preferred certifications include advanced safety coursework or certifications (OSHA 30 and/or OSHA 511 coursework, ASP/CSP certification).
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs is a plus.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, and move around for extended periods in both office and manufacturing environments. Work in conditions that may include exposure to various odors, temperatures, and noise levels. Use personal protective equipment as required. Ability to ascend/descend stairs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
