Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wellness Education Teacher to join our team at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment while teaching skills to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Wellness Education program that meets the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Design and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote physical activity, health education, and social-emotional learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives that promote wellness and physical activity.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • State teaching certification in health and physical education (P.E.) preferred.
  • Early childhood experience and coaching experience a plus.
  • First aid training and ability to demonstrate skills and move with students.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on safety and adaptability.
