Position Summary
CHS Inc. is seeking a Crop Applicator/Operations Specialist. This hybrid role will involve responsibilities as both a Crop Applicator and Operations Specialist, adapting to seasonal demands and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
As a Crop Applicator, you will:
- Independently apply fertilizers and crop protection products with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Build relationships with local farmers to understand their chemical and fertilizer requirements.
- Efficiently manage your time in the field while operating sprayer/floater machinery, ensuring safe and accurate application of products.
- Gain hands-on experience and technical skills through the operation and maintenance of various types of machinery.
As an Operations Specialist, your duties will include:
- Loading and unloading grain, agronomy, and feed products.
- Performing scheduled maintenance and repairs on equipment.
- Monitoring and maintaining grain quality, as well as mixing/loading fertilizer and chemical products.
- Assisting in loading trains and obtaining necessary certifications for equipment operation, including the potential to acquire a CDL.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Agriculture Production, Operations, or Agriculture Application.
- Ability to meet DOT and company requirements.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Experience operating machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobiles.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- A CDL license with Hazmat endorsement or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
- Applicator's license, chemical application education, and experience, along with forklift certification and a background in farming/agriculture are advantageous.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to lift and load up to 75 lbs.
