Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Instruction
    • Instruct courses and provide technical assistance as needed.
    • Prepare training materials, training aids, and equipment prior to course delivery.
    • Ensure classrooms are ready for participants and ensure concerned parties are notified of schedules, locations, and times.
    • Verify that participants have achieved terminal objectives of the course.
    • Secure training materials, training aids, and classrooms upon completion of the course.
  • Program Support
    • Complete class documentation in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with Division Guidance, Agency, and Contractual requirements.
    • Assist the Training Manager/Coordinator with customer interactions.
    • Assist in marketing Division programs and events to potential customers and students.
    • Ensure requests for travel and post-travel claim documentation are completed in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with Division and Agency guidance.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Participate in professional development opportunities.
    • Contribute to Agency Initiatives (CoPs, etc.).
    • Maintain and safeguard assigned divisional equipment and property.
    • Maintain a clean and neat appearance.
    • Maintain an orderly and clean workspace.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience
    • Four years of heavy equipment operations experience, including experience on two or more of the following: Aerial Work Platforms, Backhoe, Bulldozer, Dump Truck, Excavator, Forklift, Front End Loader, Maintainer, and Skid Steer.
    • One year of adult education and/or training experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications
    • Valid motor vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Associates degree from an accredited college or university.
    • Fluency in both English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ten years of heavy equipment experience in 3 or more of the following: Asphalt Distributor, Backhoe, Dozer, Maintainer, Excavator, Front End Loader, Skid Steer, Forklift, Aerial Work Platforms, Crane, Roller, Dump Truck.
    • Knowledge of and/or certifications in Highway Safety and Traffic control.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to lift and/or move heavy objects and/or wear personal protective gear during instruction.
    • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions during instruction.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Ability to actively demonstrate the TEEX Values - Safety, Teamwork, Adaptability, Respect, and Stewardship.
    • Demonstrated positive attitude and work ethic.
    • Ability to exhibit punctuality by arriving at work and scheduled events on time.
