Position Overview
The Deep Well Injection Specialist is responsible for the complete operation of deep well injection facilities. This includes managing equipment operations, waste offloading and transfer, conducting waste compatibility analyses, ensuring quality assurance and control, and maintaining accurate operational logs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and execute the weekly deep well schedule, coordinating offloading, processing, waste disposal, and documentation of all related activities.
  • Collect representative waste samples from various sources, ensuring proper labeling and adherence to established record-keeping standards.
  • Perform quality assurance and control procedures, including basic laboratory tasks and equipment operation, such as:
    • QA/QC Program
    • Documentation
    • pH Measurement
    • Fingerprint Analysis
    • Specific Gravity Assessment
    • Flashpoint Testing
  • Conduct bi-hourly inspections of all process equipment, replenish chemical supplies, monitor equipment performance, and perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Provide analytical support and troubleshoot non-routine issues, ensuring timely resolution of problems.
  • Maintain an inventory of essential spare parts and laboratory supplies, initiating requisitions as necessary.
  • Participate in training initiatives, assisting in the development and updating of standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
  • Perform daily calibration of equipment and support administrative tasks as needed.
  • Guide and supervise external contractors and truck drivers to ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.
  • Issue permits for confined space entry, hot work, and line-breaking, and execute lockout/tagout procedures as required.
  • Conduct RCRA and safety inspections as mandated.
  • Uphold housekeeping standards and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment in all work areas.
  • Assist with plant maintenance and repairs during operational downtimes.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in process operations is preferred.
