Opportunity Overview
This position is an excellent opportunity for a software development engineer seeking a growth-oriented role with significant ownership within a small, dynamic team in the UC group.
We utilize AWS technologies to operate on a global scale, ensuring low-latency and highly-available services.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of our team, you will collaborate with talented Software Development Engineers and Product Managers to shape the future of Enterprise applications utilized by Amazonians globally. Your contributions will include:
- Architecting, designing, supporting, and enhancing our AWS-based services.
- Engaging with a diverse array of technologies and systems, including both proprietary and commercial products.
- Mentoring junior engineers to foster their skill development and elevate the overall team performance.
Core Job Duties
- Design and develop innovative technologies within a large distributed computing environment, driving fundamental changes within the organization.
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to refine project scopes and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Create and implement effective solutions, starting from broadly defined challenges.
- Operate in an agile environment to produce high-quality software and solutions.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
- 2+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of comprehensive software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by multiple factors, including market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon is a total compensation company, offering equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the position.
