Lean System Director

Job Summary:
The Director, Lean System Consultant is a key member of the Wellstar Health System, Inc. leadership team, responsible for driving the development, implementation, and governance of the organization's Lean Program. This role requires a strong background in Lean methodology, with experience in leading complex, multi-site system-wide initiatives in healthcare organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a standardized Wellstar Lean Standard Work process improvement methodology across all facilities.
- Lead and facilitate improvement events and projects of a complex nature, including assessment, planning, event facilitation, and follow-up/sustaining outcomes.
- Teach, mentor, and coach Lean concepts to all levels of the organization, including leadership teams, process owners, and front-line staff.
- Provide continuity and connectivity between system-level departments and initiatives, identifying and facilitating cross-functional improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with operational system-wide leaders to accumulate, analyze, and concisely present data to inform strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or Healthcare Administration/Sciences.
- Minimum 12 years of work experience, with 7 years in healthcare and 8 years in a dedicated continuous improvement role utilizing Lean methodology.
- Proven experience influencing change at the executive level, delivering results on strategic goals, and coaching and mentoring others in Lean concepts.
- Lean subject matter expertise, including A3 Thinking, Strategy Deployment, X-Matrix, VSM, RIE, 3P, FMEA, Visual Management, Daily Huddles, 5S, Lean Management, Coaching and Mentoring, and Training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- PMP certification.
