Role Summary
LMI is looking for a proficient Data Scientist at our headquarters office in Tysons, VA (telework options available). Successful candidates will exhibit expertise in developing data analytics processes across various frameworks, including Modeling and Simulation (M&S) environments and AI/ML algorithms, while effectively communicating analytical findings through comprehensive reports, graphics, and visualizations. Additionally, LMI Data Scientists will have a proven track record of collaborating with fellow Data Scientists and maintaining effective communication with clients.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will involve generating advanced analytics and insights to support our client's logistics and supply chain initiatives for the Department of Defense (DoD). Specific responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with a cohesive team of LMI Data Scientists to analyze, integrate, and transform extensive datasets into clear, actionable trends and visualizations.
- Developing models utilizing ML, rule-based, or traditional statistical methodologies.
- Contributing to the design and upkeep of LMI's logistics and supply simulation model.
- Employing data analytics to create, populate, and assess the outcomes of simulations and algorithms.
- Identifying business challenges and opportunities in relation to requirements and proposing solutions that facilitate the achievement of reporting objectives.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of experience with C++ and Python programming languages.
- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as GIT.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, operations research, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Self-motivated with the ability to independently identify opportunities for enhancement through data analytics.
- A collaborative team player who maintains a positive demeanor in a dynamic setting.
- Proven ability to comprehend technical concepts and structure research that clarifies these concepts.
- Current DoD Clearance.
Desired:
- 5+ years of experience with C++ and Python programming languages.
- Experience in supply chain or logistics modeling.
- Master's Degree preferred.
