Responsibilities

The Operations Supervisor will lead and manage a team of union and non-union employees, fostering a culture of inclusivity and collaboration. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and staffing: Identify and plan for staffing requirements based on knowledge of warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Building an inclusive culture: Develop and implement programs to promote individual and collective accountability, reward and recognition, and effective communication.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement performance-based metrics to drive results through continuous improvement programs such as lean six sigma.
  • Execution: Execute plans and achieve results through others, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Safety: Provide safety instruction to personnel, report work-related injuries, and ensure compliance with government regulations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Accounting, Business, or Logistics Management).
  • 3-5 years of direct supervisor-level experience within a distribution environment, with a focus on operations management, supply chain supervision, or a related field.
  • Functional system understanding in WMS, Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work non-traditional business hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends, with a 20% in-state travel requirement.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, presentation, and writing abilities.

Physical Requirements

This role requires:

  • 9-10 hours of work per day, 5 days a week, with the ability to work across multiple shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50-60 pounds based on the nature of product sold.
