Biomedical Equipment Technician

Role of the Biomedical Technician: This position is responsible for ensuring that all equipment and supplies utilized throughout the facility are functioning correctly and are safe for patient use. The technician also oversees the maintenance of the physical premises.
Work Schedule: Full-time, consisting of five 8-hour shifts; 8am-4:30pm, with potential weekend flexibility; Sundays off; no overnight shifts.
Compensation: Hourly pay ranges from $18 to $24, contingent upon healthcare experience.

Key Responsibilities
What You Will Be Doing:
- Repairing, calibrating, and maintaining dialysis delivery systems utilized in the clinic to ensure optimal performance and safety. Assistance may also be provided for hospital services and home dialysis therapies.
- Conducting routine maintenance and repairs on water systems both in the clinic and for home patients.
- Possessing knowledge of and adhering to AAMI standards for water safety and reprocessing.
- Documenting repairs and maintenance in accordance with DCI and clinic policies, ensuring thoroughness, timeliness, accuracy, and legibility.
- Performing and documenting air quality assessments and taking necessary actions.
- Executing inventory tasks as assigned, following DCI protocols.
- Understanding and adhering to procedures regarding hazardous chemical use, storage, and disposal.
- Complying with medical waste storage and disposal protocols.
- Strictly following infection control and safety regulations.
- Completing minor building maintenance tasks as required.
- Participating in and supporting clinic quality improvement initiatives and risk management programs.
