Job Overview

Heil Environmental, a leading manufacturer of garbage truck bodies and specialized refuse body manufacturing, seeks a skilled Manufacturing Engineer, Maintenance to join its team. This role will play a critical part in designing, developing, and implementing new processes to support production requirements and goals at the Fort Payne facility.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, a desire to work in a hands-on environment, and experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS). They will also have a working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and be able to lead the launch of replacing End-of-Life manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities will include developing the annual capital equipment budget, preparing and recommending specifications for contractor activities and equipment purchases, and evaluating proposals for specification compliance. The successful candidate will also be responsible for reducing MTTR and MTBF, completing projects on time, and working with the Facilities and Maintenance Director to upgrade equipment to the latest technology.
