Job Summary
The Operations Manager provides hands-on and leadership efforts, overseeing the procurement of raw materials, lab, packaging, and distribution activities and operations at our production facility. This position is responsible for overseeing listed departments and managing 30+ indirect reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of operations professionals to ensure efficient and effective production processes
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of production plans
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials
- Manage inventory levels and implement effective inventory management systems
- Develop and implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the cannabis/hemp or manufacturing industry
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
- Strong understanding of cannabis regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve operational efficiency
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Proficient in using manufacturing software and tools for tracking production metrics
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to the core values of community, authenticity, gratitude, and execution
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP management, preferably familiar with Distru
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and supply chain logistics
- Previous experience in a startup or rapidly growing company environment
- Passion for the cannabis industry and a deep understanding of its impact on society
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including vendors and regulatory agencies
