Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse Job Description

At the Detroit Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse in our Pediatric ICU, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care to critically ill children and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients in the ICU, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and manage the patient's condition, including vital signs, lab results, and medication administration.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
  • Experience in pediatric critical care or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
