Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse Job Description

The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team. As a PICU Nurse, you will provide exceptional care to critically ill children and their families, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill children, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Monitor and manage complex medical equipment, including ventilators and dialysis machines
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Michigan
  • BSN degree or higher
  • Experience in pediatric critical care or a related field
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
