Key Responsibilities

Franciscan Digestive Care Associates, a division of The Center for Digestive Health at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is looking for a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Our focus is on delivering high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-focused care. We foster a collaborative environment that values teamwork in decision-making and have developed an efficient and appealing work model. We are seeking a well-trained, compassionate PA/ARNP who is eager to provide outstanding patient care to enhance our renowned team.

The work schedule consists of 4-10 hour clinic shifts, with occasional responsibilities for inpatient care during weekdays.

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, document medical histories, and establish accurate diagnoses under the supervision of physicians and the Medical Director. Review patient records and formulate presumptive diagnoses.
  • Effectively design and execute patient care treatment plans.
  • Consult with physicians as necessary to evaluate patient conditions and treatment options.
  • Ensure timely completion of medical documentation, patient billing, and related administrative tasks.
  • Facilitate same-day care for patients experiencing acute illnesses or minor injuries.
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of clinic policies and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical practices and treatments, engaging in professional development and maintaining relevant affiliations.
  • Participate in required meetings and contribute to assigned committees.
  • Order necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and continuity of care between physician appointments.
  • Deliver patient education, guiding patients and families on medication and treatment protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, ensuring timely completion.
  • Adhere to Universal Precautions, utilizing personal protective equipment for anticipated exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.

Qualifications

A minimum of one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is preferred, particularly in Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, or a related adult medical specialty.

Compensation

$72.12 per hour
