Primary Care Clinical Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Assistant to join our team at Scribe-X. As a primary care clinical support specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our clinic.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver exceptional patient care by greeting and rooming patients professionally and welcomingly.
- Assist providers with patient work-ups, including gathering reason for visit, patient health history, demographic information, and verifying allergies and medication reconciliation.
- Communicate effectively with patients and providers regarding wait times and provide frequent updates.
- Participate in pre-visit procedures, including chart scrubbing, verifying historical labs, and updating lab results.
- Scrub and address overdue health maintenance and gaps in care to ensure quality care and achieve quality metrics.
- Prepare exam rooms by setting up equipment according to visit type, stock, prep, and disinfect between visits.
- Autoclave instruments and equipment after each use, following NHC standard procedures and protocol.
- Accurately and timely input patient information into EPIC per NHC standard procedures and protocol.
- Perform procedures within scope of responsibility as directed by the provider following standard protocol.
- Phlebotomy for lab draws as directed by the provider following standard protocol.
- Provide patients with after-visit summaries (AVS), verbally review information, and ensure all questions are answered and next steps in care are understood.
- Answer phones with professionalism to collect and record patient information, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and patient information.
- Respond to new or refill prescription requests through EPIC.
- Conduct patient follow-up, including referral paperwork and assisting patients in scheduling additional medical tests or appointments.
- Communicate lab results as directed by the provider either by letter or phone.
- Scan and index documentation into medical records according to Clinic standard protocols and procedures.
- Receive, document, and route messages to appropriate clinical staff, including responding/returning patient/caregiver phone calls to obtain missing or additional information.
- Actively participate in continuous process and quality improvement workflows.
- Attend and participate in committees and assist at other clinics as business needs require.
- Welcome new team members and support with training and development.
- Comply with Clinic standardized workflows, protocols, HIPAA, and safety guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program
- One year of related experience and/or training
- Experience in primary care preferred
- Previous EPIC or EHR experience required
- Certification through a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Certification program, such as AAMA, NCCT, or CCMA
- Responsible for maintaining an active and unencumbered medical assistant certification and BLS
- Ability to fluently speak, read, and write in Spanish is highly preferred
