We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Intermountain Healthcare. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing patient-centered care while demonstrating our values of Integrity, Trust, Excellence, Accountability, and Mutual Respect.
Key Responsibilities- Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing procedures according to protocol.
- Obtain arterial gases and oversee the operation of equipment for optimal patient care.
- Initiate Respiratory Protocol according to department criteria and administer medications in a timely and safe manner.
- Evaluate the effect of interventions and re-evaluate as necessary.
- Communicate patient information with staff, physicians, and other departments.
- Recognize educational needs of patients and families and teach self-care techniques and modalities.
- Complete documentation according to departmental standards and monitor supplies and equipment.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved program for Respiratory Therapy.
- One year of hospital experience, including critical care, as a Therapist.
- Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of Colorado.
- Ability to obtain Respiratory Therapist License in the state of Montana.
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) course completion card.
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
This is a full-time position with variable hours and a flat rate of $60.00 per hour. Benefit eligibility is not available for this position. Housing reimbursement is available for assignments 50 miles or greater from home.
