Key Position Details:

  • This role will support daily clinic operations and assist with patient transportation
Job Description:

This position provides essential support to the clinical team, healthcare providers, and patients to ensure timely and high-quality healthcare services.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Assists providers and clinical staff with administrative and select patient care tasks.
    • Coordinates quick appointments, rectifies scheduling discrepancies, and updates appointment notes.
    • Follows up on missed appointments and collaborates with providers to review and authorize additional appointments.
    • Welcomes patients or initiates virtual visits, verifies identification, and informs patients of expected wait times.
    • Administers questionnaires and documents in the electronic medical record, inputs or modifies external results, and prepares patient forms for provider signatures.
    • May perform specific patient care tasks based on training, including height, weight, vision and hearing assessments, ECG, and transporting patient specimens to the laboratory.
    • Prepares devices for interpreter use and may escort patients to other departments.
    • Handles incoming mail, scans, copies, and faxes as necessary, prints and updates forms, answers internal phone calls, and may order office supplies.
  • Maintains cleanliness, organization, and restocking of clinical areas.
    • Sanitizes procedure and examination rooms between patients and at the end of the day.
    • Stocks examination rooms, conducts regular checks of expiration dates, and maintains linen supplies.
    • Ensures proper maintenance of equipment and prepares instruments for sterilization.
    • May prepare rooms for medical procedures.
  • Provides clinical safety support.
    • Conducts daily checks of emergency equipment, monitors and empties sharps containers, and manages liquid nitrogen supplies.
    • Performs routine safety inspections on fire extinguishers, safety lights, eye wash stations, and oxygen tanks.
    • Submits work orders and service requests as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age with the education and/or experience necessary to meet required competencies as outlined in the job description.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience in healthcare, patient care, electronic medical records, or medical terminology.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Must meet at least ONE of the following requirements:

    •Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association

    •Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross

    •Completion of Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire).
