About the Role:
The Security Officer plays a vital role in managing the daily operations and long-term strategy of the safety and security department.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety & Security Duties (40%):
  • Perform regular inspections of loading docks and employee parking areas, ensuring cleanliness and safety prior to each shift.
  • Investigate and follow up on any violations related to dock cleanliness.
  • Respond promptly to all emergency situations, taking necessary actions to protect guests, staff, and property.
  • Review accident reports to ensure thorough and accurate documentation.
  • Conduct routine patrols of the premises to maintain a secure environment.

Team Development (40%):
  • Onboard new employees to the department and hotel.
  • Provide hands-on training regarding job responsibilities.
  • Ensure all security personnel are fully trained on parking applications, including assisting with server resets, clearing ticket jams, and conducting supply audits.
  • Encourage a proactive approach to property security and customer service among the security team.
  • Foster positive relationships across departments and with external vendors.

Leadership Responsibilities (20%):
  • Promote security awareness and provide training for both management and staff.
  • Act as a liaison between hotel management and guests in the absence of the Security Manager or Director of Security.
  • Engage in regular meetings with the Area Director of Facilities.
  • Participate in event PreCONs as required.
  • Lead both the Security team and Safety Committee initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of security experience, preferably in an upper upscale brand.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a supervisory role within a security context.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety and security operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to navigate stairs and uneven terrain.
  • Visual acuity to monitor team activities and assess operational conditions.

Additional Information:
The hospitality industry operates 24/7, and associates may be required to adjust their shifts and responsibilities as business needs dictate. This role is essential in maintaining a welcoming and safe environment for all guests and staff.
